I was very hesitant about getting this game, after F.E.A.R 2. The second game was just not very good in my opinion. Very short, not a lot to do after you beat it. The game play was scare then shoot, scare shoot. very “MEH.”
However I am happy to say the third installment of the FEAR series was/is awesome. The graphics, aiming system, and story have improved drastically. Instead of scare, shoot, scare, shoot. They managed to fuse it together pretty well. The voice acting can be over the top a bit, but i think that is part of the charm that is FEAR.
The game can be played by two entirely different characters. Both with different abilities and play styles. Then you can play co-op online or split screen with a friend. AND it also has different online modes that are really fun. favorite is the “fucking run!” game type. So much to do on a game I got at Gamestop a week after the game came out for 40 dollars. You just can’t beat it.
A solid 9 outta 10 in my books.
