Haven’t done one for a while. And so many games i haven’t written a proper review for. SO MANY games since Christmas. Time to catch up a bit.
Zelda Skyward Sword:
Great game. Takes a little while to get into the fighting. Too much flying around on a giant bird for my taste. However, once you get into the game. You get INTO it.
9 out of 10
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3:
Better then Marvel vs. Capcom 3 by leaps and bounds. It made me angry that Capcom decided to come out with a new game instead of just coming out for dlc. But when you think about it, the 8 new characters would have cost around 40 bucks as dlc. So meh.
8.5 out of 10
Assassins Creed; Revelations:
Made a few improvements to the multiplayer. Thats really the only difference I see. Still a really fun game.
8 out of 10
Batman; Arkham City:
Fantastic game. Game-play is smooth. Story draws you in and holds you. Personally one of my favorite combat systems to date. Voice acting is amazing, as expected. If you have not played this game, or it’s predicessor, get busy.
9.5 out of 10
Skyrim:
Another phenomenal game. The environments were amazingly done. So much detail. SO many hours of game play. Solid story line, with tons of side-quests. A couple little bugs here or there, most fixed by now though. One of the best games of this past year in my opinion.
9.5 out of 10
That’s it for now. till i beat Mass Effect 3. Amazing so far. ( LOVE the multiplayer mode!!) Stay tuned. :D
Very well made game.
Campaign was a blast to play through, especially on 4 player co-op. Hell even just regular co-op. It leaves more of the game to be desired in my opinion.
The Horde 2.o is really awesome. The barriers, weapons, boss battles.
Beast mode is a good edition to the game. Needs to be longer then 12 waves though. (Hehe)
And Multiplayer is actually fun in this game. Its not just roll, shotgun, roll (gow) OR smack, shotgun, smack (gow2). Although lately I have been noticing a vast increase of people using the sawed-off shotgun. Its not a problem if you can take them out before they get too close though. (:D)
Game defiantly worth getting. 9.5 out of 10.
Can’t wait for DLC. :D
Honestly. This WAS a game i was looking forward too.
I really wanted it to excel because the game play footage i have seen of the game look outstanding.
However. After playing the beta for a few matches of multiplayer, I was very under whelmed.
I was wanting those breathtaking graphics to…
Beta isn’t a demo. Derp
uh, never said it was. dumbass.

Been meaning to write this.
So I actually didn’t really care about this game. The only reason I have it is because my boyfriend wanted the game. (haha)
Favorite thing in this game.. ORCs. Delightfully funny.
Honestly though i really enjoyed playing it. There is nothing insanely special about it. The graphics are really good, especially the faces. The game play is a third person shooter mixed with a brawler. The weapons are very well thought out. The game was a little shorter then i was hoping. HOWEVER.. the multiplayer is really fun. Again, its nothing too special or inovative about it.
Good game to get if you like 3rd person shooters or brawlers and you have some extra money laying around, get it.
8 outta 10. game could have been longer. and just didn’t do enough different to impress. Then again. I can be harsh. XD
(better late then never, right?)
So at first i was not completely sold on this game. Meh, it looks pretty. Blah blah blah.
However. I must say that i really really enjoy it. It doesn’t step far outside the box in gameplay or anything. But its aiming system, weapons, assassinations, and the armor you wear in the game are all amazing. The gameplay is what made the game “worth it” for me. The story line was ok. Nothing special or anything, but good enough for me to enjoy the weapons, environments, and the sweet assassinations on enemies.
ONE thing that this game did that made me so happy, was that the cpu didn’t always know where you were when you went stealth mode. Nothing was more satisfying then causing a bunch of ruckus and then ducking behind a corner and hit stealth. Then snap an enemies neck from behind because he couldn’t see you.
I’d give this game an 8 outta 10. Just because i wanted a bit more story. But everything else is golden. ^^
I actually enjoyed this game very very much.
I love the style of play. interrogating a suspect, putting clues together, getting in shoot offs with criminals, and solving a case. Everything about this game I enjoyed. The sound track was amazing. The voice acting was very well done. The facial expressions they were able to do in this game are just astounding.
The only complaint i have about this game is the driving was a bit stiff. Aside from that this game was just a blast. :D Chasing down bad guys viva police radio was very fun. Decide weather a suspect is telling the truth, doubtful, or lying. Buy it, rent it, steal it from a friend. Just experience it. Their is no other game like this. Enjoy it.
9 out of 10 IMO
Shadows of the Damned:
It was quirky and fun ( kinda dark humored). The characters were likable. The story was not very original. Save the girl, from hell. blah blah. However the guns were very original, as was the sidekick. Aside from a few camera problems the game play was smooth. I really enjoyed this game.
8 outta 10.
LOTR: War in the North:
This game was not good at all. Clunky battle system, terrible voice acting, horrible graphics, Mediocre story. I would not wish this game on my worst enemy.
2 outta 10
Spiderman: Edge of Time:
The story started off strong. Anti-venom vs. Spider man. The battle system lagged here and there. But it was tolerable. Then the story started to drag its heels. The combat didn’t evolve much through the game. The battles started to feel the same. over and over. And then the story just got ridiculous (if you played this game you know what i’m talking about). I could not finish it.
5 outta 10
Assassins Creed: Revelation:
I actually bought Assassins creed brotherhood because friends of mine were saying how fun the multi-player was. This game did not do nearly enough to warrant another game. Everything from the levels to the characters look the exact same. They introduced 1 new feature. A detection bar. That lets you know when you are getting noticed by an enemy. OH and there faces move now! WHOA! that changes everything. (cough) The real disappointment for me was the game is still not split screen, co-op. I still enjoy the way that the game plays, (because it is exactly the same as Brotherhood) I just wish they had done more.
7 outta 10
So battlefield fan boys are getting pissy with me about my review of the beta.
why?
why waste your time?
your opinion is not valid. i don’t care what you think of the game. i am talking about my experience with a game. not yours.
i am getting told there is a difference between a demo and a beta, when i never mentioned a demo. so kinda confused about that.
there are issues with every game. get over it.
im sorry my expectations were high after the videos i’ve seen. The game i played in the beta is set to release in what? 23 days? really?? the beta is pretty much the finished product. especially this close to the release date. and those who think otherwise are idiots.
p.s. saying consolefag makes me think your a 12 year old trolling 4chan. grow the fuck up.
Honestly. This WAS a game i was looking forward too.
I really wanted it to excel because the game play footage i have seen of the game look outstanding.
However. After playing the beta for a few matches of multiplayer, I was very under whelmed.
I was wanting those breathtaking graphics to carry into the multiplayer of the game. Sadly, they did not. The graphics looked no better then Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The maps were still far to big to have fun just “runin and gunin.” Snipers once again have the obvious advantage. and the spawn points are still placed out in the open where you can get sniped from anywhere on the map.
This was devastating to me. I wasn’t playing bad or anything. Positive k/d spread, so skill is not the issue here. I was just expecting something… new, different. That WOW factor.
So this game is now up in the air whether i will purchase it or not. Sad but true.
But don’t take my word for it. Its free to download the beta on the xbox live or psn.
I got the game yesterday for the 360 (smart guy here) and have been playing it on and off for two days. I have gotta say this is one of the BEST games i have played this year. Another one being Portal 2 (shout out to Portal 2! woo!)
Cons. The game does lag every now and again, but it is a HUGE world with lots of detail. So i forgive the game. Aside from the bugs i kept getting annoying people joining my game and no way to kick them out. I had to drop out of MY GAME to go and set the online play to Single Player so i would stop getting interrupted. I just wish they would let me kick unwanted people out of my game, IN GAME.
On the Pros side of things. The game is a blast with or without friends. SO many quests to do and bits of story to find. The weapons are fun. AND THE KICKING! lol the kicking. leveling up weapons and building up your skill tree feels rewarding. The game is a must have.
I give the game a 9 outta 10. aside from a few bugs, and annoying online people you don’t know jumping in games. Its good ol’ fashion family fun.
HA. forgot to write my little two cent review about this game.
Got it the first night it was out. Despite the crap review IGN gave it. I was actually excited to play it.
So the graphics were very good. The art style was refreshing. The environment were my absolute favorite part of this game. They were just amazing. The game play was very well done. It had a nice flow to it, very responsive and smooth. Battle system was awesome, and the weapons were up-gradable and just cool as hell. The voice acting was even good. The sound track did get a little meh after you are on a level for an hour or so. The game was long! More games need to stop trying to put a half-assed story and half-assed multiplayer in a game, and just focus on ONE and make it good. Take notes other games. Take notes. The story was really interesting and odd. Loved it.
So in my opinion i would give this game a 8 outta 10
It is a really fun game.
The gameplay is smooth and nice looking in HD. the combos look amazing, colors exploding everywhere. the backdrops and music is also very good. the voice acting is very nice, having characters talking to each other is pretty cool. every character has there own individual style. no copy and paste of move lists is pretty impressive.
However. The characters are all unlocked waaaaaaay too easily. The lack of characters is some what annoying, and the endings are a cop out. T n T a little 2 page comic without voice actors/actresses reading the text. ugh.
I would give it an 8 outta 10. ^^ so tis worth it. *smiles*
